A hobby that paid off handsomely

What say you on the issue below?

TAKING part in contests had always been a hobby for Adibah Rahim but the 19-year-old never though that she would win anything.

“I like to enter contests just for the fun of it. I don’t send hundreds of entries like other contest enthusiasts,” said Adibah who was surprised when she was announced the grand prize winner of the Marigold HL Cash Rewards 2 Contest recently.

The Form Six student from Malacca said she could not believe that she had won the top cash prize of RM50,000 as she had only sent in three entries.

“We only bought nine boxes of the milk for the contest, so I thought my chance of winning was pretty slim,” said Adibah who planned to use the prize money for her studies and her parents’ trip to Mecca.

The Marigold contest that was held from May 1 to July 31 attracted participants from all over the country.

Participants had to complete a simple crossword puzzle and submit their entry forms together with the barcodes from any 3 X 1 litre packs or 12 X 200ml packs of Marigold HL Milk.

During the prize-presentation ceremony, Cotra Enterprises Sdn Bhd general manager SB Cheah gave away prizes to all the top winners.

Apart from the grand prize, the first prize offered RM25,000 and the third prize RM10,000.

Cheah said due to the good response they received to last year’s contest, they decided to oragnise the contest again this year.

This year’s cash prizes amounted to RM180,000 with 50 consolation prizes of RM1,000 each and 100 bonus prizes of RM300 each.
